What can I expect when I attend Oasis Church?
We know that going to church for the first time or attending a new church can be a little intimidating, especially if you aren’t sure what to expect. The following are answers to a few questions you may have...

What should I wear?
We don't have a "dress code". Casual is fine. Jeans are okay. If you're comfortable, we are happy!

How will I know where to go?
You can enter through the front doors facing the main road or come through the side door, which is closer to parking toward the back of the building. You’ll may see people standing and talking outdoors or just inside the doors. You are welcome to sit anywhere you like! By the way, men's restroom is located just inside the front entrance and the women’s restroom is just inside the main room and to your left in the southeast, back corner. If you come at 10:00 am, a greeter will help find a study group for you or your children.

Will I need a Bible?
No, but you may enjoy having a Bible or device to follow along in scripture. As a backup, we try to have the scriptures projected on the screen.

Will I have to say anything, sign anything, or be singled out in any way?
No. We will do our best to never put you on the spot, single you out, or embarrass you in any way. We are glad that you decided to spend some time with us.

What will the service be like?
Announcements may be showing on the screen before the service begins. The service will include:
  • Mingling -This is a time for people to get to know and visit with one another.
  • Praise Songs - Feel free to sing along with the words projected on the screen.
  • Prayer - Someone will pray for our church and for those who are sick or have a special need.
  • An Offering will be taken - Please feel no obligation to put anything in the offering. As our guest, we want you to relax and simply enjoy the service. The offering is for those who support the mission and outreach of Oasis.
  • Message - The pastor or elder will give a spiritual talk. It's just a talk, designed around a relevant topic using biblical references with practical application. The talk might include drama or multimedia. You’ll enjoy our pastor-- he is down-to-earth, friendly, and often brings personal stories or current events into his message. A prayer or song may follow his talk.
I have kids. Will there be something at your church for them?
We have activities for all ages during the 10:00 o’clock Sabbath School from birth to young adults. Someone will help you find just the right place for your children. Of course, they can stay with you if you wish. Everyone can attend the worship service together. Or your 1-7 year olds will find activities and stories in "KinderCare" the Fellowship Hall . There is a mother's room (with a changing table) for those who need a private place to go during the service with their baby or toddler.

I still have a few questions. Who can I ask?
Contact us at 615-323-9372 and we will get back to you as soon as possible, or send a message on our contact form, or if you are here on a weekend, ask anyone. We want to make sure you have a great experience while you are with us!
